LOS ANGELES (AP) - A man was robbed of his prized sports car 42 years ago never desisted in their efforts to find him until he finally recover when searching on the Web site eBay auction sales.

Robert Russell said the Police Department's chief of Los Angeles County who never gave up on finding his Austin Healey 1967 was stolen at his home in Philadelphia in 1970.

Russell, who now lives in Texas, contacted the department in May, and Detective Carlos Ortega tracked vehicle in East Los Angeles.

"The detective located the Austin Healey Ortega stolen in car sales site mentioned in the notice of eBay and confirmed that the car was the same vehicle that Mr. Russell reported as stolen," the department.
